We’re Misfit Floofs Collective — a scrappy crew of rescue nerds, sleep-deprived optimists, and people who know way too much about neonatal kitten care. We take the tiny ones, the medically complicated, the rough-first-day-at-life crowd — and get them ready for home.
Our World
What We Do
From the street, our houses look normal. Inside, there’s an incubator on the sofa table, formula in the fridge next to the oat milk, and the garage hasn’t seen a car in years — that’s quarantine now. The linen closet? Litter. The guest room? A place to call home.
Our mission: support our local humane societies and animal rescues — because no one saves them alone.
The Process
How It Works
Rescue
We partner with area humane societies to take on the ones who need more than shelter life can offer — the bottle babies, the medically complicated, the too-small-for-general-population crowd.
Rehab
Some need round-the-clock medical care. Feral kittens learn that people aren’t scratching posts. Dogs who’ve never “dogged” — like Rico, an 80-pound puppy we carried from couch to yard because he’d never walked on grass. He finally agreed to a walk, stepped in a puddle, decided that was enough personal growth for one day, and sat down in the street. We carried him home.
Rehome
They leave the shelter too small, too fragile, or too scared. They come back ready for the adoption floor — and they don’t stay there long.
Foster Spotlights
Not just kittens -- all kinds of floofs
We rescue cats, dogs, puppies, and every scruffy critter in between. Here are a few of the animals whose lives have been changed through fostering.
Sia and Grey Man
When a tiny grey kitten showed up needing a foster home, our resident dog Sia became the ultimate babysitter. Proof that family comes in all shapes and sizes.
Rico
This gentle giant came to us as a stray. Despite his tough look, Rico is all heart -- a certified lap dog and the sweetest couch companion you'll ever meet.
Bear
Found as a tiny pup, Bear joined our foster program and quickly proved that napping is an extreme sport. He's now a healthy, happy floof looking for his forever home.

How you can help
